About neighbourhood
Your neighborhood:
Rue Raikem sits in one of Liège’s most lively and characterful neighborhoods. You’re close to the train station and the historic center, so most places are walkable. Place Saint-Lambert and the city center are about 15 minutes by foot, while Liège-Guillemins station is around 10 minutes by bike or bus. it has a very local feel: students, artists, cafés, late-night bars, and small neighborhood shops all mixed together.
Coffee:
Cafés Ubuntu (15' by foot) is probably the nicest specialty coffee spot nearby if you want good cappuccinos, brunch, or a place to work for a few hours. Closer to the center, Grain Liège (18' by foot) is another favorite for specialty coffee and pastries. If you’re more into cozy local cafés, Addict Coffee on Rue du Méry is a classic Liège student/work spot.
Food:
Simplement Restaurant (15' by foot) is one of the best casual bistronomy spots in the city and great for date nights or dinners with friends. If you want something different, Sora- Restaurant near Guillemins is a local favorite for Afro-Caribbean food. And of course: you’re in Liège, so don’t leave without trying proper Liège waffles from Pollux or a neighborhood bakery.
Drinks:
Flak Bar Liège - Beer & Music (15' by foot) is a super relaxed craft beer bar with concerts and a very local crowd. For something more chaotic and very “Liège”, Le Pot au Lait (20' by foot) is legendary for its bizarre interior and late nights. In summer, people also just grab drinks and sit along the river on the Quai or around Place du Marché.
Fitness:
Evolution wellness club is one of the better-equipped gyms nearby if you want classes and a more complete fitness setup. KINEO Fitness & Wellness near Médiacité is another solid option with modern equipment and wellness facilities. If you’re looking for the cheapest option, there are also several Basic-Fits around the city center.
Groceries:
For everyday shopping, both Delhaize Fragnée and Intermarché Liège Blonden are easy options nearby. Outremeuse itself also has plenty of smaller night shops, bakeries, and local grocery stores. Around Place du Congrès and Rue Puits-en-Sock you’ll find more multicultural shops and affordable produce stores.
